Dan attended Regis Jesuit High School, where he participated in Tennis, Diving and Lacrosse. His awards in High School were both academic and athletic, receiving Highest Honors for his 4.0 GPA, All-State and All-Conference in Lacrosse and winning the State Title in Tennis. Dan graduated from Colorado College in 2005, where he played Lacrosse and received the Rookie of the Year, Leadership and Commitment, Ultimate Warrior, Iron-Man and "Always" awards. He majored in English, was awarded Dean's List, and graduated Cum Laude.
